Ardbeg Kildalton 2014 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Description

This bottle from Ardbeg has been released to raise money for the Kildalton Project and is not to be confused with Kildalton 1980! This is a charity bottling for the Kildalton Project which is part of the North Highland Initiative. This charity's aim is to support fragile communities across the northern highlands and around Scotland. The label and the box both bears the Kildalton cross. For those who don't know about the Kildalton cross it's a monolithic high cross located on Islay's coast at a ruined church. Carved in 800AD. Bottled: 2014.   Nose A lovely enticing multi-layered nose with creamy vanilla, touch of exotic fruit, some salt and white pepper which leads to a subtle sweet peatiness. Palate A stunning delivery, a silky smooth flavour explosion in the mouth, malty, vanilla coated in oak spice, touch of sherry sweetness, a bit of dark chocolate all brushed with some lovely Ardbeg peat smoke. Finish Long. Touch of vanilla sweetness balances well with some slightly bitter dark chocolate, mild allspice Christmas cake notes, mild slightly drying slowly fading peat smoke.
