Description
In the crafting of the Balvenie Rum Cask aged 17 years, Balvenie matured exclusively in traditional whisky casks was transferred to barrels shipped from Jamaica which had previously held sweet rum.The long maturation in traditional oak casks imparted characteristic Balvenie Vanilla and Honey notes while the influence of the rum casks was to add further layers of richness, warmth and spice to the resulting single malt. Nose: Delicate. Notes of rich, yellow fruit and acacia honey with a soft buttery texture. Palate: Very fruity, rich and ripe, with the allusion of bourbon from the toasty vanilla and soft Demerara. Finish: Spicy oak and Muscovado sugar.
