Batch 8 from Balvenie Tun 1401's combines the highest number of casks in the series thus far. There are 3 European oak sherry butts and 9 American oak sherry butts, and is the darkest of the range so far.
NOSE: Dark chocolate, quite bittersweet,
PALATE: Cherry syrup, lots of sherry influence, fruity, strawberries in particular, spicy
FINISH: Menthol, spices. lingers for a while.
