This third edition Islay malt from Bruichladdich has been matured for 20 years in bourbon barrels before being decanted to age in malmsey madeira hogshead. Nose: Fresh red fruits, cherrys and cranberries. Slight notes of cinnamon with an underlying dried fruit sweetness. Hint of peat and smoke. Palate: Now citrus fruits, orange in rind and lemon zest. Soft, sweet and smoky with a hint of salt. Finish: Long, smooth and lingering.
