Released in the early part of 2017, this 25 year old Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky from Springbank distillery has been matured in sherry & bourbon casks, before being married in casks that previous held port wine. Only 900 bottles were filled in 2016 at 46%. Nose: Lots of fruit on the nose with a wonderful mixture of grapefruit peel, dried tropical fruits, wine gums and a delicate touch of cassis. Palate: Full bodied and viscous with fully integrated orange peel, honeycomb, brandy snaps, black pepper and tobacco leaf. Finish: Classic Springbank with mineral notes combining with fennel, tea leaf and leather against a background of soft burning embers.
