A rare bottling of Glenmorangie with a distinctive rich aroma, matured in oak casks. Distilled in the vintage year of 1977 and bottled 21 years later in 1998. Nose: A hit of oaky vanilla and spice, then grassy peat, and finally a surprisingly emphatic whiff of sea air. Taste: Sweet and juicy. The fresh oak character combines with the typical walnut, somewhat overpowers the usual spiciness.Finish: Very slight peat again, its quick, and smoky. Dry and complex.
