William Larue Weller 2013 Bourbon Whisky 68.1% ABV

From the 2013 release of Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection, William Larue Weller's 2013 high proof bourbon is a true monster, exploding with cinnamon, vanilla and massive spice. Truly a delicious whiskey.   Nose: Very intense and rich. Offering up freshly juiced fruits (particularly prune), black pepper, warm custard and foam bananas. Some espresso beans, butterscotch and manuka honey. Palate: Perfumed and aromatic when it hits the tongue. There are herbal notes, hints of floral gums, warm custard again, hot buttered toast with honey, and strawberry and apricot jam. Finish: Long with cereal sweetness, corn and toasty oak.
