Balvenie 25 Year Old DoubleWood Single Malt Whisky

The Balvenie 25 Year Old DoubleWood, matured for 25 years in American oak casks and then finished off in ex oloroso Spanish Sherry casks to make a memorable celebratory edition to mark the anniversary of the first release of its flagship DoubleWood 12 year old. Laid down in 1993, when the first DoubleWood was released, this is a fantastic drinker and a real collection piece too. The release is part of a ‘year of celebrations’ as Balvenie pays tribute to Stewart’s pioneering work and the distillery staff who help create the DoubleWood expressions.   Nose: Spicy and sweet, quite leathery. Palate: Sweet, spicy, citrus, honey, sugar and dried fruits - quite christmassy Finish: Spice with lots of sherry - delicious!
