This 22 year old release from Speyside distillers BenRiach, initially mataured in American Oak casks, the amber liquid is then finished in Pedro Ximiez sherry casks. The bottle's name 'Alazira' serves as a salute to the white soil typically used in growing grapes for the production of Sherry in Aldalucia, Spain.  Part of BenRiach's peated range, expect to find delicate peat smoked, intwined with crisp sherry, dried fruits and rich chocolate truffle.  Nose - Warm honeyed peat smoke holds gentle touches of garden mint infused through sweet dates and chocolate fondant. Palate - A crisp sherried sweetness combines with dark chocolate . Victoria plums and rum soaked raisins, all surrounded by an earthy campfire smoke. Finish: Softly smoked red berries, espresso soaked fruitcake and gentle spices.
