About This Whisky

Benrinnes 13-Year-Old 2012 is part of Signatory Vintage’s independent cask-strength series. Matured for 13 years and was distilled in 2012. This is a richly sherried expression showing off its heavier distillate character. Perfect for those who like their whiskies bold, dark, and deeply layered.

About Benrinnes

Benrinnes Distillery

Active since 1826, Benrinnes, or ‘Lyne of Ruthrie’ as it was called at the time, was founded by Peter McKenzie who saw the distillery through a subsequent flood and rebuilding. The distillery, now owned by the spirit giant Diageo, is equipped with two wash and four spirit stills. Near Aberlour, Speyside Scotland. Benrinnes used a unique partial triple distillation process, which was rare in Scotland. This process was used until 2007, after which the distillery switched to the more common double distillation method. Benrinnes unique production methods have given the distillery a reputation for producing whiskies with a weightier, more complex character compared to many lighter Speyside malts. Benrinnes has also been producing one fifteen-year-old semi-official bottling in the Flora and Fauna range since 1991.
