Distillery Bruichladdich

About This Whisky

Featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book. WMD Refers to the Whisky of Mass Destruction story concocted from the US Government on the worry that Scotland were stockpiling metal for use of alternative means! Actually Duncan McGillivray was just trying to keep the Bruichladdich distillery going in times of hardship! This fantastic whisky is a rare example and a worthwhile investment to your collection. A special 14-year-old whisky from Bruichladdich. This was released in the mid 2000's to commemorate the discovery of a yellow submarine off the cost of Islay. Finished in Rioja-wine casks and bottled at 46% ABV. Nose:  malty, white wine, yellow fruits, apricot, citrus, pepper and nutmegPalate:  bitter fruits, mint, fudge and grainsFinish:  medium drying, pepper, oily and some tannins
