Tasting Journey

Distillery Glen Flagler

About This Whisky

This 29 year old Lowland malt whisky was distilled in 1973, at the now silent Glen Flagler distillery, and was bottled in 2003 by Inver House Distillers, Airdrie at cask strength of 46%. This is one of just 931 bottles, which are said to be the distillery's last ever bottlings - meaning that this is an ever-decreasing chance to sample a piece of Scotch whisky history. Although Glen Flagler fell silent in 1986, some casks were set aside and warehoused until they were judged to be at their premium. This is a result of the vatting of these casks (the last 5) that were bottled at an unchillfiltered natural cask strength. Comes with outstanding wooden presentation case, complete with COA and information/tasting notes and a very generous sample of this precious liquid included for good measure. Featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book - we know why!!   Nose:  Vanilla, honey, toffee, some smokiness, orange, flowery, sweet malt Palate: Fruity, vanilla, oaky, delicate, nuttyFinish: Long, nutty, vanilla, dry, delicateSuperb!
