Tasting Journey

Distillery Glenmorangie

About This Whisky

Introducing Glenmorangie Taghta, Scots Gaelic for chosen a perfectly fitting name for the worlds first whisky crafted by Glenmorangie consumers. This exclusive Glenmorangie single malt whisky was specially selected by Glenmorangie's Head of Distilling and Whisky creation. Dr Bill Lumsden, and then shaped by consumers as part of the Glenmorangie Cask Masters programme. Over 18 months Glenmorangie fans have been able to help guide decisions on all elements of the whisky creation process from whisky, to name, to pack design, photography and the location for the launch of the whisky. A first for the whisky industry!   Nose: A curiously nutty and salty nose,  toffee,  and some savoury cured ham. Palate: The texture is oily and viscous, with a delicious primary flavour of caramalised orange and lemon, plump sultanas, a hint of brown sugar, but then a wave of salty briny notes olives, salted cashew nuts and some nice, toast oak flavours, like walnut and leather. Finish: The long aftertaste is rich, mellow and soothing, with flavours of toffee, caramel, chocolate and dates.
