This single malt is described as an evolution of Macallan's 12 year old whisky, matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. It won Best 11-15 year old Single Malt Scotch of the Year in the Whisky Bible Awards 2012. Rated 95.5/100 by Jim Murray. A beautifully crisp and smooth whisky. Nose: Complex with a hint of fruit and heather honey. Palate: Medium bodied, balanced with fruit, oak and spice. Sherry notes seem to come on first, with the usual sultanas and dried red fruits, Finish: Long and rich, with dried fruit and oak. Gentle notes of baking spices.
