The OLC:01 is part of a collection of whiskies from Port Charlotte with a focus on outstanding and unusual cask maturation, for this expression an array of Ex-Bourbon, Ex-Syrah and Ex-VDN (Vin Doux Naturel) casks were used before a finishing period in Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads from the Spanish Bodega Fernando De Castilla.

Nose: Earthy peat smoke and rich dark fruits combine with nutty and honeyed aromas. 

Palate: The rich dark fruit and chocolate notes typical from high quality Oloroso cask maturation balance perfectly with the peat smoke Port Charlotte is reknowned for. However, the combination of casks used to mature this whisky bring undertones of citrus fruits and nuts. With spicy pepper and tobacco leading into the finish. 

Finish: Dry earthy peat smoke and citrus fruits combine with vanilla and chocolate notes, a long smoky finish leaves a lasting impression.

30% 1st Fill American Whiskey Casks

40% 2nd Fill American Whiskey Casks

25% Vin Doux Naturel Casks

5% 2nd Fill Syrah Casks
