About Talisker Distillery

Talisker Distillery is one of Scotland’s most iconic single malt whisky producers and the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye. Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, Talisker has become internationally renowned for producing powerful, maritime Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a distinctive combination of peat smoke, sea salt and peppery spice.

Located on the shores of Loch Harport in the village of Carbost, Talisker’s dramatic island setting is closely associated with the rugged character of its whisky. The distillery’s spirit is traditionally known for its combination of coastal salinity, smoke, black pepper, citrus and rich malt sweetness, giving Talisker an immediately recognisable house style.
