The Kurayoshi Pure Malt by Matsui - 18 Year Old Whisky

This is a boutique Japanese whisky produced by the Matsui distillery. The bottles produced here are characterised by ageing along with the pure underground waters of the Daisen Mountains. This Kurayoshi Pure Malt 18 year old has a Scotch style to it with a complicated and rich flavour; spicy and sweet with malty overtones and a delicate finish of smoke.   Nose: Puffed cereal, malt flavour, lemon peel, a little dride grass and a hint of acridity Palate: Candy, lemon, honey, malty, shortly followed by spices and dried straw Finish: Wheat, a small amount of sweetness, vanilla cream reminiscent, a little bit of smokiness
