On sale in very limited numbers (cases of six) in the days running up to Ardbeg Feis Ile 2012, this was also available at 100 "Ardbeg Embassies" across the world. The whisky is a limited edition of 12,000 bottles and is a marriage of two different styles of Ardbeg, which have been re-racked in Sherry casks for the last six months.
Nose: Big waft of Peat, nicely fruity. More than a hint of very old Speyside. Vanilla, BBQ sauce, kick of chilli. Maybe a touch of satay?
Palate: Full and rounded. Absolutely massive mouth feel. Peat weaves in well with the nicely sherried notes. Touch of seaweed, camphor.
Finish: Sherry carries through into the finish, but a nice creaminess is contributed by the first fill bourbon too.
