This Glendronach was distilled in 1994 and aged for 18 years - a must for any Glendronach fan. Each year Glendronach's Master Distiller, Billy Walker, specially selects a handful of individual casks from the warehouse of the Glendronach Distillery. With maturing whiskies dating back as far as 1968, there is a vast selection of barrels, hogsheads, puncheons and butts to choose from. Each of these casks display truly remarkable characteristics; the malt whisky contained within having developed exceptionally well during the long maturation process. Individually numbered by hand, each vintage release is an exclusive one-off, with only a limited number of bottles available. These exceptional expressions are a fantastic representation of the style of whiskies maturing in the Glendronach Distillery warehouses, and are smooth, well balanced and tremendously complex. This bottle came from cask number 3547 and was one of only 607 produced. Nose: Aromatic sweet sherry and lots of dried fruits. Palate: Full, sweet sherry notes, raisins and figs, plenty of cinnamon followed by milk chocolate and faint nutty notes. Finish: Long, with honey sweetness and zesty citrus.
