The distillery was founded by William Grant in 1887, who, after working at other distilleries, decided to start his own. His family played a crucial role in its early development, and his descendants continue to run the distillery today. Glenfiddich is located in Dufftown, Speyside, which is famous for producing some of the finest Scotch whisky in the world. The region is home to over 50 distilleries. Glenfiddich is one of the largest distilleries in Scotland and is known for its commitment to traditional methods, such as copper pot stills and maturing its whisky in oak casks (including American oak and European oak for sherry casks). They use pure water from the Allt Dearg spring that flows through the distillery. Glenfiddich is one of the best-selling single malt Scotch whiskies globally and has a wide range of expressions from 12-year-old to 30-year-old and beyond. The Glenfiddich "Solera" Vat: One of the distillery’s unique features is its Solera vatting process, used for the Glenfiddich 15-year-old expression. This process involves mixing whisky from different ages, ensuring a consistent and unique flavor profile.
