A deluxe expression from Highland Park's Warriors series. The Ragnvald was made using whiskies drawn mostly from European oak casks and a smattering of American oak casks. The name comes from a Viking well known for his sailing and acquiring of valuable trinkets, like spices, fabrics and jewels. Nose: Citrus and vanilla, apple slices, sugar and old oak. There's a hint of long-aged Sherry in there too... Palate: Cakes! Lots of almond croissant and lemon danish notes up front, soon joined by more old Sherry, leather and ground cinnamon. Finish: Dark chocolate, coastal smoke and fruit. Very long.
