Founded: 1964 (current site); original distillery in 1814 (Tarbet, closed). Loch Lomond Group (owned by private equity firm Hillhouse Capital since 2019). Lomond stills allow Loch Lomond to make 8+ different spirit styles under one roof, Its Inchmurrin and Inchmoan brands are named after islands in Loch Lomond. Their grain whisky is unusual because it’s made with 100% malted barley but distilled in a column still. The distillery is not open for standard public tours, unlike many others.
