Tasting Journey

Distillery Thomas Handy

About This Whisky

Don't miss this one!! Unbelievable, yet again from the Kentucky distillery. Their whiskey is released once a year as part of Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection - this is the 2016 edition, bottled at a generous 63.1% ABV. Named after the legendary New Orleans bartender, Thomas H. Handy. This Rye Whiskey uses a mash bill of Minnesota rye, Kentucky corn, and North Dakota malted barley. Distilled in the spring of 2010 it entered the barrels at 135 proof and matured for six years and five months on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of Warehouses I, K & M. Only 61 barrels were selected for this bottling. Nose: Powerful, lush, and boldly spicy. Palate: Flavours of toffee, fig cake, and glazed fruit, followed by mint, cinnamon. Finish: ultimately reveals subtle notes of allspice, coconut and nutmeg. Long and warm.
