The Macallan goes beyond simply creating whisky. This is apparent in a new interpretation of Rare Cask Black, reimagined through the eyes of a master of visual ambiguity, Steven Klein. This uncharacteristic whisky is surrounded by a distinctive display of striking and mysterious imagery, captured by Klein during his Macallan Masters of Photography chapter. Unlike any other Macallan today, Rare Cask Black has a surprising yet subtle distinctive smoky flavour which still gives you the full bodied richness of the spirit’s DNA from 100% sherry seasoned European and American oak casks.   Nose: Burnished amber Palate: Dry Smokiness reveals itself yielding to softer oak tones Finish: Dried fruits, nutmeg, ginger and beautifully polished oak plus dates, figs and raisins.
