Discover an exceptionally rare and highly collectible Highland whisky with the Blair Athol 27 Year Old 1975 Rare Malts Selection Single Malt Scotch Whisky – 70cl 54.7% ABV. Distilled in 1975 and matured for an extraordinary 27 years, this prestigious bottling was released as part of Diageo's legendary Rare Malts Selection, a series celebrated for showcasing some of Scotland's most remarkable and hard-to-find single malt whiskies.

Produced at the historic Blair Athol Distillery in Pitlochry, Perthshire, this vintage expression offers a rare opportunity to experience one of the Highlands' most characterful distilleries in its purest form. Bottled at a robust 54.7% natural cask strength, the whisky delivers exceptional depth, richness, and complexity while preserving the authentic character developed through nearly three decades of maturation.

Known for its rich, nutty, and fruity spirit style, Blair Athol has long been a treasured component of premium blended Scotch whiskies. However, official single malt releases of this age and pedigree remain exceptionally rare, making the 1975 Rare Malts Selection one of the most sought-after Blair Athol bottlings ever released.

Extended maturation in traditional oak casks has produced a whisky of remarkable elegance, offering layers of dried fruits, honey, dark toffee, oak spice, malt richness, and subtle sherried complexity. About Blair Athol

Blair Athol Distillery

Established in 1798, Blair Athol distillery stands at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, Perthshire. To the south, set in open moorland in the foothills of the Grampian mountains.

Hidden beneath the town of Pitlochry, the distillery draws its water from the Allt Dour Burn, a source that has shaped Blair Athol’s robust and full-bodied style for over two centuries. Much of its production historically contributed to premium blends, particularly Bell’s Whisky, but modern single malt releases have gained strong recognition among enthusiasts and collectors.

Closed in 1932, Blair Athol was saved during the depression by Arthur Bell and Sons. In 1949 it was extensively rebuilt, reopened, and has been in production ever since. Tours of the distillery provide a wealth of knowledge and expertise, all of which bring you face-to-face with Blair Athol’s exquisite surroundings and fascinating past.
