About Brugal & Co

Brugal & Co

Brugal & Co., officially known as “Destilería Casa Brugal,” operates multiple facilities—distillation takes place in San Pedro de Macorís, while aging, blending, and bottling are handled at the original Puerto Plata site. Maestro Reserva is aged using carefully selected American sherry oak casks, which are emptied and immediately toasted while wet—a proprietary process developed exclusively by Brugal known as Dark Aromatic Toasting. After toasting, the casks are refilled and undergo a further period of maturation under the Dominican sun. The brand is currently managed by the fifth generation of the founding family, with Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana, who led the creation of Maestro Reserva and oversaw the innovation of its signature Dark Aromatic Toasting process.
