About Glen Keith Distillery

Glen Keith is located in Keith, Banffshire, Scotland, near Glenfiddich and Covalmore. Construction was completed in 1960. It was the first new distillery in Speyside since 1898. Glen Keith has an annual capacity of six million liters with six stills that work in three pairs. Glen Keith is known for its flavors of fresh grass, pear, toffee, and apple and has a reputation for quality and consistency in its whisky production. It's whisky matures in bourbon casks and some older whiskies are also maturing in European oak sherry barrels. Glen Keith was originally an experimental distillery that produced Scotch for Chivas Brothers' blends. The distillery was used as a laboratory for innovations in production and processing. The distillery was mothballed in 1999 and reopened in 2013 after extensive reconstruction work. The distillery is owned by Pernod Ricard, which took over Chivas Brothers.
