About This Whisky
🥃 Rosebank 1979 – 19 Year Old Rare Malts Selection – 75cl, 60.2% ABV
A Rare Lowland Masterpiece from the Historic Rosebank Distillery
Rosebank 1979 – 19 Year Old is a highly collectible Lowland single malt Scotch whisky, bottled in 1998 as part of the revered Rare Malts Selection by Diageo. Distilled at the now-silent Rosebank Distillery, this rare expression represents one of the finest examples of triple-distilled Lowland whisky, presented at a natural cask strength of 60.2% ABV.
With its cult status among collectors and whisky purists, this 1979 vintage offers a snapshot of a lost era in Scotch whisky—defined by elegance, floral complexity, and exceptional craft. Bottled in a classic 75cl format, this release is increasingly scarce and sought after by serious whisky investors.

🏰 Distillery & Heritage
Once referred to as the “King of the Lowlands,” Rosebank Distillery operated in Falkirk until its closure in 1993. Known for its unique triple distillation process—rare in mainland Scotland—Rosebank produced exceptionally smooth, fragrant, and nuanced single malts. This 1979 distillation bottled in the late 1990s showcases the distillery’s signature style before its historic silence.
The Rare Malts Selection, now discontinued, was Diageo’s original prestige bottling range, spotlighting closed and underrepresented distilleries at natural strength. This Rosebank 1979 edition is considered one of the best from the series.
